Fried orange slices
Ingredients
9 medium navel oranges
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 tablespoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
Recipe
Squeeze enough juice from 3 oranges to measure 1 cup.
Cut the pithy ends from oranges and discard. Slice the fruit into thin rounds and cover both sides with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. Melt some butter or margarine and gently fry the orange slices in it, turning until the rinds are lightly browned. Serve hot with roasted chicken, veal or pork.
