Garlic
Allium sativum, known as garlic, is a species in the onion genus, Allium. Its close relatives include the onion, shallot, leek, chive and Chinese onion.
Garlic is native to Central Asia and northeastern Iran and has long been a common seasoning worldwide, with a history of several thousand years of human consumption and use. Today, garlic is grown in many parts of the world, given that the climate is cool or it is grown in shady areas. This makes it an ideal herb for inclusion in numerous meals, and also use as a herbal remedy for various conditions. The versatility and delicious flavour of this powder make it a favourite spice around the world.
